Day 81, Picture 81, March 31, 2010 – More Spring Color

More Spring Color

With the temperature in the 70’s, the Spring flowers are really popping up all over. I know I have posted many Spring flowers in the last few weeks, but it is hard to ignore the powerful color.

These are from our front walk. It is great to walk out of the house and see color or come home to color as you walk up to the house. Now I know more green and color is coming soon.

I have been not too verbose the last few days because my main hard drive died, so I have been busy rebuilding and restoring my hard drive.

Day 80, Picture 80, March 30, 2010 – Sunset Dark Reflections

Sunset Dark Reflection

After two days of taking hundreds of pictures in the Dubuque and Galena areas, today was a little struggle to find an acceptable Picture-Of-The-Day image. Then this image presented itself. As you know I like reflections. I drive by this creek a lot. Tonight the sun that just had peaked out from behind clouds reflected of the still water as I drove by. I turned around and took a few images including this one.

The green of Spring is coming slowly to Wisconsin. The dark of winter is sticking around way too long. Soon the banks of this creek will be greening up. Not too soon for me.

Day 79, Picture 79, March 29, 2010

Spring Reflection

Spring in the Midwest has cool evenings and mornings. Then the day warms up to the high 60’s. The mornings normally are clear. On a clear morning with hardly any clouds, the reflections off the water are brilliant.

This image is from a resort on top of a hill in the country outside Galena, IL. A nice day trip from Madison, Wisconsin.

Day 78, Picture 78, March 28, 2010

WIne Reflection

Sometimes you just need to get away and have a glass of wine. Today was one of those days. Getting away was needed today and it was a great fun day. A glass or two of wine also was needed and that was fulfilled too. One in the afternoon and one with dinner. It was a great day.

Day 77, Picture 77, March 27, 2010

Blue Night Butterfly

This is our Butterfly that changes color during the night. I had a bad day today. Last night I had hard drive issues and it looks like today that the drive failed. Now I have to replace the drive and restore the information from my backup. I just do not have time for this. Too many projects. Too little time.

Day 76, Picture 76, March 26, 2010

20 Years of Great Food

For 20 years Trish and Kendal have served up great food. Tonight, as usual if we are in the area, we were at the Koffee Kup for our Friday night fish. We were surprised by the number of customers. Then we found out why, Koffee Kup was celebrating their 20th year in business. Well, what a surprise, free champagne and 20% off our total bill too!

Becky, Trish and Sara are like family for their customers. We see the same customers every Friday night. It is like going home. Great food, friendly staff and customers. What more can you ask for?

After a great dinner, a glass of wine and just a fun night, we relaxed a took a few pictures. We were very happy to be included tonight.

Day 75, Picture 75, March 25, 2010

Waiting For Easter

Chester was waiting for me when I got home tonight. Chester is our Newbie’s Dad. Chester knows our cars, so he and up to two other outside cats come on down for dinner when they hear our cars. It is nice to have a welcoming committee.

Lots of work tonight and I am a little tired, so I am not very verbose.

Day 74, Picture 74, March 24, 2010

Painting With Lights

I worked late tonight. I love mornings, just cannot sleep late, because I might miss something. The early morning light is great and watching the world wake up is often speculator. I like the night too, because of the lights. Tonight on the way home, I liked all the different color lights, so I set the shutter speed low, and painted with the lights. I like how the colors give this picture motion and it looks like everything is focused at a point far ahead of me.

It was late, my choices were few because I get up at 4:15 in the morning. I really needed my beauty sleep. So tonight’s Picture-Of-The-Day was a little last minute. I did have a backup, in case nothing worked out on the way home. More Crocus pictures!

Day 73, Picture 73, March 23, 2010

Two into the Sunset

It was a great day to be outside, too bad I could not enjoy the warmer weather like these two geese. This pair was paddling around lazily enjoying the sunset. They say geese mate for life. If so, these two were very comfortable with each other. They knew each others moves and were both going in the same direction. They were not in hurry and not bothered by me standing on the shore taking their picture. Just like any older couple, doing their own thing, without a care in the world.

I was not going to take two geese pictures in two days, but this one image caught my attention tonight. The reflections in the water, the light , the ripples, the colors all make this image special to me. I hope you enjoy it too.

Day 72, Picture 72, March 22, 2010

Together for Life

It is Spring and the season for lovers. All over our area, animals are pairing up for the Spring season. It was a great day in Wisconsin. Sunshine all day and almost warm enough to go without a coat. The trees really budded out today. Spring flowers continue to pop up starting to brighten up the ground.
