Day 476, April 30, 2011 – Scott & Catherine Diamond

Scott & Catherine Diamond

This picture was taken just after Scott & Catherine’s first kiss as newlyweds. A great wedding today. It was very nice and we were happy to be there. We had watched Catherine grow up from a tiny baby girl to a married women. It was a wonderful journey and now, Catherine and Scott start a journey of their own as man & wife.

Congratulations!!!!!!

Day 475, April 29, 2011 – Fallen Tree

Fallen Tree

I had a busy day. Client meetings, work on a database project and more. My first day of my weekend was full of work. It was sunny early in the morning and then clouded up late. I wanted a Spring weekend, but it looks like rain for this weekend. We have a wedding Saturday along with Farmer’s Market and breakfast with friends. Then it is back to work on Sunday morning. Work is getting in the way of life again.

We had dinner at the Koffee Kup tonight. A great meal tonight. That is normal at the Kup. Ann kept a little fish out for the kids, so all is well at home.

Day 474, April 28, 2011 – At The Clodhopper Monologues

At The Clodhopper Monologues

The image is of us before the start of the Clodhopper Monologues with Michael Perry. It was taken with my new iPad. Ann and I have both enjoyed Michael Perry’s books about rural Wisconsin. We have listened to him read his books on CD’s and have really liked him. When we found out I would be getting done early today, we purchased the last tickets one ticket outlet in Stoughton had. It was sold out or at least pretty close to being sold out. Basically Michael Perry stood on stage for almost 3 hours and told great stories. Stories we could relate to or found really amusing. He was a hoot. I really liked his books and his style. The Stoughton Opera House is a great place to see someone like Michael Perry.

Michael Perry’s stories and books are about rural small town Wisconsin and the people who live there. The are funny and serious at the same time. I spent the first ten years of my life on a farm in rural Wisconsin on a dairy farm, I can relate to some of those stories, even today. If you get a chance, go see Michael Perry.

Day 473, April 27, 2011 – The Champ’s New Wing

The Champ's New Wing

Tonight was the last night of indoor RC flying at the Brodhead High School Gym for this season. Now we switch to outside flying until Fall. That is if the outside weather ever warms up, we can fly outside. It has been fun flying indoors with a bunch of new friends. Everyone has been nice and helpful. I have learned things and had a ton of fun. Not much more you can ask for on a Wednesday night in Winter in Wisconsin.

The Champ’s new wing worked great but I broke a prop on one of the last flights of the evening. Sill, overall it was a fun night.

Day 472, April 26, 2011 – Dark Tree

Dark Tree

This week is full of dark stormy weather. Not the Spring I like, but you play the cards dealt you. I like this tree and have taken a number images of this tree in different light. The dark side of this tree is the side I like the best. It looks like it should be next to a graveyard or near a haunted mansion. A little lighting would be nice in this image, but again, you play the cards dealt you.

Weather like this makes me lazy and depressed. I want sun and warm weather. The winter was too long and the spring cannot come in full force soon enough. I think I live in the wrong part of the country. I need more Spring, less winter.

Day 471, April 25, 2011 – Spring Again

Spring Again

Today we had a taste of Spring again. Warm weather with a sunny day felt like Spring again. I hope the warm sunny weather will continue. Flowers like this one I took a picture of are sprouting up all over our yard and the countryside. Color after a winter of dull, really makes Spring. After a week of trying to find something interesting to take a picture of during days of dull rainy days.

Spring in Wisconsin also means launching rockets, flying RC airplanes, farmer’s markets, road trips, flying real airplanes and short track racing. All will start soon. I cannot wait until Spring is in full swing in Wisconsin and we do not have to worry about snow.

Day 470, April 24, 2011 – Happy Easter

Happy Easter

Today was Easter and I had to work. Working on Easter is not a new thing. I did it when I was young and working in my parent’s restaurant. But restaurants are normally open on Easter. Not copy shops. If I had been an air traffic controller, at least I could have slept. But instead it was the most boring Easter of my life. For over 7 hours I had very few customers, sold very little, ran all the jobs in the store, cleaned and had nothing to do but stand and wait for someone to walk through the door. I doubt today’s Easter sales paid for one hour of operations. A big waste of resources.

During my break, I used some of the new photo Apps on my iPad to take the picture I took with the iPad and play with it. I think I used about 6 or 7 Apps to get the result you see. Not one of my best nor in my top 69,722. But I had some fun today even bored out of my skull. I took the picture of myself using the front facing camera in the iPad 2 and it was easy to see on the screen what I was going to get when I pressed the button to take the picture. My wife, Ann liked the bunny balloons at the restaurant that we had lunch and that is why I took the picture. I did not see anything that could have topped the fine work of art for today’s Picture-Of-The-Day.

Day 469, April 23, 2011 – Family Additions

Family Additions

Newbie was nice enough to help welcome the newest family additions today. We acquired four new Duckies for the Spring / Easter weekend. Left to right; Buster Bunny, Clucky Duck, Patty Petal and Hatching Henry. I do not know how many people collect these plastic yellow duckies, but there must be a large number because they are in the stores in large numbers of different Duckies. They are all cute and just add to the herd.
The Eagle is to honor the addicting Web site of the Eagle nest. Mom and Dad helped hatch 3 eggs. They have a Web Camera on the nest and we got to see the three eggs hatch and become little Eaglets. They are growing fast and watching them is addiction. Mom and Dad take turns watching the nest. They get food, fish or small animals, and feed their youngsters. When full the little Eaglets, just drop off to sleep. If you have not watched the Eagles, take a look at: http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles !!!!! They are just too cute. Watching them get fed is too cute. They are a lot of fun.

Day 468, April 22, 2010 – Nice Newbie

Nice Newbie

Newbie came through again. It was raining all day and I did not get any shots. Newbie was nice enough to pose for me. I took this shot with my iPad trying out the camera in the iPad 2. Not as high resolution as my Nikon D90, but fun to play with. My Friday was full of getting things done since Ann had off with me. Too bad it rained all day. Thanks to nice Newbie for posing for me.

Day 467, April 21, 2011 – Morning Critter

Morning Critter

Today’s sunrise revealed clear blue skies. In that golden glow of the early sun, Mrs. White Paws was also revealed to be resting under one of our trees. She just had breakfast and was resting, soaking up the early morning sun rays. I really like this time of day for photography. It really has neat light. Oh, to have the time every morning like today to take photographs.
