Tree Down
Well maybe part of a tree down, but it took the core of the tree with it, so I am not sure the rest well survive. It happened last night during a storm that moved through the area. It is sad, because we like our trees on our yard. Also, that tree was one we planted and it was doing so well.

Purple Star
What a day. After a very hard workout, a storm moved in, and then the power went out. We still had our iPhones and iPads, but I cannot get Database or Web work done with those. So we sat in the dark on Twitter and Facebook until the power came back on. Then it is power everything computer wise back up. I have a UPS, but with 8 hard drives and a large monitor, the UPS does not last long. Enough time to shut things down so nothing is lost, but not enough to keep working. I was lucky enough to capture 4 images before the storm moved in. So time spent reviewing lots of images was made easier with just 4 to review and work on. But that is life living in the country at the end of the power line.

Two Cats
I captured these two cats as I was leaving for work. Mrs. White Paws and Chester were relaxing after their breakfast. They are Newbie’s Mom and Dad. They are our outside cats, two of the three we feed, talk to, but cannot touch. They come close, but just will not let you get that last half inch to pet them. I think we have to work on them more. Newbie came inside as a kitten and has never looked back or wanted to venture outside. As he says; “Been There, Done That!”

Spring Flowers, Spring Showers
Another day of Spring showers, hard rain, some misting, and very little sun here in Southern Wisconsin. After work, a very hard workout. On the way home I could not fine anything interesting. After I got home, I took my walk around the yard. The rain had stopped, but still no sun and it was just before sun down. I found a bunch of images I liked. I took 6 into Photoshop to match the images to my minds eye when I captured them. For some reason the camera never sees what I see or at least very seldom. As I looked at the 6 images I eliminated one after another until I was down to this image. As I studied the image on screen, I realized it was not the most colorful of the images and not the most dynamic of the images, but it was more like the day had been. On a cloudy and rainy day, you get subtle, you get mellow, you get low key and I guess you get muted colors. Look at this image at full screen. There are details, there are colors, but the image is more like an oil painting to me. Maybe more detail, but subtle colors. I guess it fits my mood after a dreary day, a hard work out and no sun.

Newbie
It was a crummy day today. It was cold, overcast, misting, raining and windy. But it was my day off, so we did what we could in the yard. We worked outside most of the day. I still grilled Italian sausages for lunch and made chicken tacos for dinner. But the outside work did not get as much done as we had hoped. It was so crummy out, I just did not want to try to get an image from outside, just nothing exciting or interesting. So Newbie had to step up and fill in for today’s image.

Purple Iris
It was my Monday. That alone tells the type of day it was. I worked, it was cold, it rained, it was cold, it was cloudy, and it was cold! It was also our 40th Wedding Anniversary today. A big day for sure! I took this after dinner, walking around our yard.

Susie
Since Saturday is the only day Ann and I have one full day together, it was spend running all over Southern Wisconsin. We visited with Susie, Newbie’s sister among other visits. A cool day, not sunny, and just blah. It is a holiday weekend, so it will warm up after the holiday when the gas prices drop back to normal.

Two Piers
Another full day. Why can’t time slow down so I can get stuff done? On the way to our normal, traditional Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fry, we always drive through the Wisconsin State Park near us. At the end are these two piers. There is something about water that relaxes you.

Sunset Leaf
Another Boot Camp class after work tonight. I could hardly move. I had to move around the yard for today’s image. I took a few shots and then could not decide what one to use for today from three finalist. It was a tough choice. I finally picked this image because I liked the colors.

Iris Bundle
I worked late tonight. By the time I left work, it had clouded over and it looked like rain. In fact, when I got home to walk around the yard to see if there was something to capture, it started to rain. The Irises have started to show up around the yard. In fact just in the last few days they have added their color to our yard in abundance. They look so delicate, but have good character.
