Day 1542, March 31, 2014 – Finally!

Finally!

Finally!

I have to work the 3pm to 11pm shift today, so I walked around our yard for today’s image before I left for work. Since it is the last day of March I was looking for the Spring flowers that are normally up by now. But no flowers, just some green finally starting to show up in more than one place. It will be maybe in the 60’s today so I am looking forward to warmth, Spring flowers and brown turning to green. Besides the snow still on the ground, there is way too much brown around.

Day 1541, March 30, 2014 – Race Day

Race Day

Race Day

As I walked around our yard after feeding the birds, the ground still frozen, the sun out and the temperature rising to almost normal this time of the year, I thought I would capture my checkered flag waving in the steady breeze. I know there would be at least three major live auto racing events on today. There was and I got to see the ending of all three. Not the beginning or middle, but at least the end of all three. Just too much other stuff to do today.

Day 1540, March 29, 2014 – Blue Sky

Blue Sky

Blue Sky

Finally a day with Blue Sky. Not yet Spring Time warm, but at least we have sun! Tomorrow it should be 20 degrees warmer, I hope. I walked around the yard today. Still snow in the areas that do not get a lot of sun and the ground is still frozen. Lots of deer droppings, rabbit pellets, raccoon piles, dog do-do, in other words lots of poop. Our lawn should be well fertilized this year to start with. So rather than capture an image looking down on the ground, I choose to look up, in the crisp, clear, clean Blue Sky!

Day 1539, March 28, 2014 – Bully Nest

Bully Nest

Bully Nest

Not much today to capture for today’s Picture-Of-The-Day image. I walked around the yard full of deer poop to capture Uncle Bully in his nest. He likes to lay there during the day. After Bully, we were off to our Friday Night Wisconsin Fish Fry. A nice relaxing night of great food and drink. Then home to watch the University of Wisconsin Men’s Hockey playoffs. A big week for the UW Badgers!

Day 1538, March 27, 2014 – First Green

First Green

First Green

It has been a very long, cold and dreary winter. We are into Spring, but without Spring weather. I did search our yard and found some green among the brown. Not much, but hope springs eternal! I did not find any Spring flowers, normally up long before now. I guess not warm enough yet. Today was mostly rain, so it was above freezing with the forecast of over 50 for the weekend! We will see.

Day 1536, March 5, 2014 – New Camera Platform

New Camera Platform

New Camera Platform

I was on the road for most of the day and there was not very much to capture for today’s image. On the way home I picked up my new camera platform. It is my first Quadcopter and can carry my GoPro. My plan is to be able to capture images from a completely different perspective for my art. I cannot wait to try it out. It will be a little bit before I can test it out. I always wanted capture an image from an spot that was impossible to obtain in a normal way. Maybe it was from a high spot that you would have to hover 80 feet in the air. Since I do not have any super-powers, I can not hover 80 feet in the air. A Jet-Pack is too expensive and not always the best solution. With this new camera platform I will be able to hover 80 feet in the air, capture an image, and then finally be able to use the image I want. I cannot wait to get the first images!

Day 1533, March 22, 2014 – Uncle Bully

Uncle Bully

Uncle Bully

Uncle Bully looks like it has been a hard winter. I do not know his history, but from looking at him, his scars, and other signs of a rough life, his life has not been easy. As I have said before he got his name of “Bully” because he was the neighborhood bully. But over the years he has mellowed and we have treated him like the other two of our outside cats with food and kindness. Now his name is “Uncle Bully”, because he is not the neighborhood bully anymore. He gets along with the other two cats fairly well and he has become more friendly. He also might have added some of his DNA to the mix that became our Newbie. In any case, he has become another member of our neighborhood tribe of cats.
