Planes, Trains, Ships and Automobiles. And a cat. I worked late again, so it was dark when I left work. Inside photography is then called for. Since we just had a road trip, I thought of transportation. I had what I needed sitting on my desk. Except Kali, she came for the treats, stayed to be included in the image, but not still.

Had a quick road trip with my neighbor today to pick up some aviation books. Along the way, we were lucky enough to capture the Amtrak train as it was traveling through Wisconsin. We actually saw it twice along the way.
For the first time that I can remember we were stopped on the way to the hockey game by a train at the Park Street crossing. That was cool.

I spent the day at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay Wisconsin as a research project. There is lots to see from a bygone era.

After getting home from Kansas, we took a road trip to see if there was any Fall Color, did not find much. But did get to capture this caboose.

New Used Locomotive
Looks like the Wisconsin and Southern has an ex Union Pacific Locomotive. I captured it doing some switching of cars in Oregon at the new cement plant. All new tracks at the cement plant, lots of switching for a bunch of cars. Take the empties out, park them, then bring in the loaded cars, place them and then pick up the empties to move on. All done with just two men, one in the locomotive and the other doing the heavy work, moving the switches and coupling and uncoupling the cars.

I had a lot to pick from today for images. I spent the day with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. First, a trip to the Wisconsin Auto Museum. A great Museum with lots of great items for everyone to see. Then we went Train Chasing. We did not have the best of luck, but did manage to capture this one.

The Milwaukee Road
Christmas is on it’s way. I just liked how these few lights were reflected in the skin of this old Milwaukee Road locomotive rusting away along side the old Madison railroad station.
