Planes, Trains, Ships and Automobiles. And a cat. I worked late again, so it was dark when I left work. Inside photography is then called for. Since we just had a road trip, I thought of transportation. I had what I needed sitting on my desk. Except Kali, she came for the treats, stayed to be included in the image, but not still.

While we were having our Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fry in Newville Wisconsin on the river, a car motored into the boat ramp for their fish dinner. Cool.

Today I finally got into Madison to get a good car wash, along with a million or two of others. I love the reflections a newly washed car has on a sunny day!

I had a long day at work and got out just as the sun was setting. I liked how my car reflected the sunset off parts of the car.

It is the year 2017! Lots happening. A few things tie to this Picture-Of-The-Day project. First, 2017 is made up of the two numbers Matt Kenseth used in his NASCAR career at the highest level. Second, something I forgot at the time, but on January 11, 2017 I started my 8th year capturing an image and posting it to the Web. And third, two days ago I posted my 2,600th image. A couple of milestones and one neat combination of NASCAR numbers.

This little part is all I have left of my 1960 MGA Coupe. The rest went to someone who had more time and money to restore it back to it’s glory. It was part of the hood vent. I found it a few weeks ago in my process of cleaning and organizing my workshop/eBay work area. I do miss that car. It was the first car I purchased with my own money. I spent $100 in 1968 and received the car, three bushel baskets of engine parts, four cardboard boxes of engine and transmission parts, an engine block, and a transmission case. I proceeded to purchase a MGA shop manual, and start to put it back together. It was a great learning experience, to say the least. I did get it together, and after some effort, got it running. It was a blast to drive. It was crude compared to today’s cars, but at the time, with hardly any money, it was fun.

Today we went to the Matt Kenseth Museum in Cambridge Wisconsin. Lots of memorabilia from Matt’s career to look at. It is a regular stop and each time I find new things to look at. Today’s image is one of a race motor, one that I would like to have, but one that is not for sale.
